All Day Big Bend National Park Guided Tour:

Your adventure begins at 9 A.M. from our office in Lajitas. After boarding our van we will head out to the National Park and travel the Old Maverick Road to the magnificent Santa Elena Canyon. A short hike into the canyon will delight you, with the abundant birdsong, fossils imbedded in the exposed sedimentary rock and spectacular high rising canyon walls.

Next on the agenda is a stop at the historic Castalon area and a short hike into Tuff Canyon, formed by volcanic ash millions of years ago. And then it's on to Sotol Vista for a scenic view of the desert below. Your next stop will be the Chisos Basin, the last stronghold of the Chisos Apaches, with spectacular tree filled scenery and a wonderful deli style lunch prepared by your guide.

After coming down from the mountain we will take you to the east side of the park to the old historic Hot Springs are for a short walk around the old resort property. Next we will visit an overlook of Boquillas, a small Mexican Village just across the Rio Grande, with an option of hiking (time permitting) to the mouth of Boquillas Canyon. A short stop at Dug Out wells completes your journey as we head back to our office in Lajitas to arrive at 5 P.M.

Sunset Big Bend National Park Tour:

Your journey begins at 6 P.M. from our office where we will load into vans for a trip to Santa Elena Canyon via the old Maverick road.

After a short hike into the canyon, we'll travel the scenic Ross Maxwell Drive to the historic area of Castalon, and then on for a short hike in Tuff Canyon, formed by volcanic ash that covered this area millions of years ago.

Then it's on to Sotol Vista for spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and desert vistas where we will watch the sun go down and toast the magic of the Big Bend with champagne.

All Day Big Bend Ranch State Park Tour:

Your tour will begin at our office in Lajitas at 9 A. M. where you will load in our van for a short trip to the Barton Warnock Center for a guided tour through the museum.

After the tour you will return to the van to travel the River Road, rated by National Geographic as being in the top ten in the nation for scenic beauty. While on the River Road, we will stop at the "Lonesome Dove" movie set and at "Big Hill" where scenes from the movie "Fandango" and "Up Hill All the Way" were staged. Along the way we also pass "El Padre Al Altar" (The Father at the Alter) an area of volcanic tuff.

Your next stop will be for a hike in volcanically formed "Closed Canyon," aptly named for it's close walls and the unscalable drop-off that keeps you from descending to the river.

Back to the van and off to the "HOODOO'S," where you'll view some unusual rock formations sculpted by wind and water. There will be ample time to hike through the area as your guide prepares a deli style lunch for your enjoyment.

To round out your adventure, the last stop will be at historic Fort Leaton for a guided tour and then it's back to our office in Lajitas for a 5 P.M. arrival.

Sunset Big Bend Ranch State Park Tour:

Our State Park Tour starts at our office at 6 P.M. where you will load into vans for a trip on the "River Road" to the movie set where Hollywood filmed "Lonesome Dove."

Our next stop will be for a short, easy hike into Closed Canyon, formed by volcanic lava flow more than 35,000,000 years ago.
And then it's on to the mystical "Hoodoo's"! Here you will see what wind and water can do to the rock, shaping it into amazing top heavy pedestals that seem to defy gravity.

The spectacular vistas on the way back to the "Big Hill" grow more colorful as the sun begins to set. We will stop on the top of the "Big Hill" to watch the sunset and toast the magic of this beautiful country with chilled champagne.
