Your Itinerary
Day 1 - Early transfer to the Caribbean beach village of Omoa, which is one of the oldest towns in Honduras. We will visit the historical San Fer-nando Fortress built by the Spaniards to protect the coastline and ships from attacks by British pirates. The fortress offers a magnifi-cent view of the bay and the Merendón mountain range. Leisure time can be spent enjoying the beach and sea. Return to San Pedro Sula late in the afternoon. Overnight San Pedro Sula.
Day 2 - You will be met at your hotel by a Meso-america representative who will transfer you to the direct service bus for Copán. On your way to Copán you will travel through beauti-ful countryside. A hotel reservation will be made for you in Copán. This hotel is only a short walk from the direct bus terminal. The rest of the afternoon is left free to enjoy and explore the picturesque village of Copan. Overnight in Copán. (B)
Day 3 - In the morning a guide will meet you in your hotel and escort you to the Copán Ruins Park which is located 20 minutes walk from Copán. You will tour the legendary Archaeological Park of Copán, which consists of two main sites: the ruins and the sepulchres. Learn about the impressive 63-step stairway with over 2,500 hieroglyphs and masterfully carved Stella. You will return to Copán in time to take the afternoon direct bus back to San Pedro Sula. (B)
Day 4 - You will be met by your guide at 9.00 and transferred to Tela. En route we will visit the Turiplaza, a handicrafts centre. After arrival in Tela we will visit Lancetilla Botancial Gardens. The United Fruit Company founded the gar-dens over 70 years ago as an experimental botanical site. The gardens are home to hardwood, medicinal and ornamental plants as well as tropical fruit trees from all over the world. We will see how the bamboo forest absorbs some 90% of the daylight; admire the long rows of majestic Royal Palms. An Orchid Garden and a Natu-ral Reserve with a beautiful 1,200 hectares of virgin tropical rainforest make up this wonderful natural area. Overnight Tela. (B)
Day 5 - In the early morning we leave by boat to explore the impressive rock formations of Punta Sal. We visit the sheltered little bays, well hidden among the rocks, with palm fringed beaches and blue lagoons. We will take a brief forest hike. The rest of the time we are free to relax on the beach or swim and snorkel in the crystal clear water and explore the interesting marine life of the world's second largest Coral Reef, which comes close to the shore at Punta Sal. Overnight Tela. (B)
Day 6 - Today is left free to soak up the atmosphere of Tela and to relax in the sun, sand and sea. Overnight Tela (extra activities can be organized at an additional price). (B)
Day 7 - Morning transfer to San Pedro Sula for your departing international flight. End of program or extend your stay with another tour program.
