Your Itinerary
Day 1 - Transfer from San Pedro Sula to Tela. En route we visit the Lancetilla Botanical Garden. The United Fruit Company founded the gardens over 70 years ago as an experimental botanical site. Here you will find hardwood, medicinal and ornamental plants as well as tropical fruit trees from all over the world. You will see how the bamboo forest absorbs some 90% of the day-light, admire the long rows of majestic Royal Palms or try exotic fruits fresh from the tree. An Orchid Garden and a Natural Reserve with its beautiful 1,200 hectares of virgin tropical rain-forest, 240 species of birds are also found in the Park. We then proceed to our hotel. Day 2 - Early in the morning we leave by boat to explore the rock formations of the Punta Sal National Park. Visiting sheltered bays, well hidden among the rocks, we'll enjoy a tropical lunch and the exuberance of the woodlands. We can also swim and snorkel experiencing the marine life of the world's second largest coral reef, located very close to the shore at Punta Sal. Rest of the day free time to relax on the sandy beach of Tela. Overnight in Tela. (B)
Day 3 - Today we take a full day hike behind the famous Lancetilla Botanical Gardens, in a rain forest and tropical paradise. This is the perfect place to escape civilization for a few hours and to experience natural Honduras at its best. This area of tropical rain forest is home to alot of birds, colourful butterflies, monkeys and many other small animals. We will walk in the shade of giant tropical trees, across streams of fresh mountain water. Overnight Tela. (B)
Day 4 - After breakfast we transfer to La Ceiba airport for a 25-minute flight to Roatán Island. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Overnight Roatan. (B)
Day 5 - Days left free to enjoy the fun and sun of Roatan. Some of the best beaches in Central America can be found on Roatan. Many additional activities can be organised for these days for instance snorkelling, diving, sea kayaking, water sports, biking or horse riding at an additional cost. Enjoy. Overnights Roatan. (B)
Day 6 - Days left free to enjoy the fun and sun of Roatan. Some of the best beaches in Central America can be found on Roatan.
