Your Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at High Plains Lodge, Dinner Plain.
Settle in, & prepare to fish. 4WD down to the nearby streams, where (if the weather is kind!) hatching insects will keep the trout rising through til dusk. Return to the Lodge for a sumptuous meal and a few social drinks. Enjoy the high country atmosphere in this modern but rustic little mountain village. (L) (D)
Day 2: Early rise, early breakfast, then - Saddle up!
Ride to the headwaters of the Cobungra River, fishing all day. Camp will be pitched while you fish, a campfire lit, and preparations for your first bush dinner - maybe even fresh trout! Camping overnight in the beautiful alpine national park, freshly cooked trout, surreal beauty! Ah, it's tough at the top ...

Day 3: Rise to a hearty bush breakfast around the campfire.
Fish til mid-afternoon. Mount up again, ride out of the valley back to Dinner Plain. Dinner at the Lodge and a nice social evening. Sample some of the magnificent local wines. (B) (L) (D)
Day 4: Today, board the 4WD to go to a different stream, and - fishing all day - again!
A lovely streamside lunch with hot damper and billy tea/coffee. Tie a fly in the bush, and then cast it to a rising trout. Life is too short ... (B) (L) (D)
Finish off your trip with the last night at the Lodge, and opportunity to take in the nearer surroundings and perhaps day-trip around the High Plains.
