Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 : Dakar. Airport arrival assistance and transfer to your hotel in down town. Check into your room before orientation meeting.

Day 2 : Dakar / Goree Island. After breakfast, embark the ferryboat for your discovery tour to Goree Island. You will View the colonial buildings, the historical slave house where its curator will narrate the past. You will return to your hotel after enjoying your delicious buffet lunch. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 3: Dakar / Saint Luis via Pink Lake. Founded in 1659, on an island with a strategic position at the mouth of the Senegal River, between the continent and the ‘Langue de Barbarie’ (Barbarian Tongue), a narrow strip of land that sinks into the Atlantic Ocean, Saint-Louis is a town full of history and the former capital of Senegal and seat of centralized Government of French West Africa. Your first stop will be at the mysterious Pink lake discover the incredible rose colored body of Salty water surrounded by sands and dunes.. You will arrive in Saint Louis late in the afternoon and check into your hotel. Dinner and Bed. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 4: Saint Luis / Ornithological Park. After breakfast begin an excursion to one of the National Birds Parks. Langue de Barbarie or Djoudj by boat with lunch to view a variety of birds of different shapes, sizes and colors. Then back to Saint Louis city Center for a historical visit old colonial city of Saint Louis. Among the sites and monuments see, the Governor’s Palace, a Fortress built in the 18th Century across from the Faidherbe Place, the name of the famous colonial governor whose statue is erected in the center. To the north and to the south of that place, the houses dating back to the colonial period, with their wrought iron balconies and verandas, which remain intact. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 5: Saint Luis / Saloum (Kaolack). After breakfast, depart St Louis for Saloum, while en route visit the Holy City of Touba, founded in the middle of the desert by Ahmadou Bamba, a seer, who began the Pan Africanism struggles in Senegal. You will stop for lunch at Diourbel and continue to Saloum for a full day tour to explore mixed cultures and ethnic people with whom you will have the opportunity to interact and know about. After a country lunch in one of the local villages, take a boat ride on one of the several tributaries of the Sine River to discover a World of Birds. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 6: Saloum (Kaolack) / Banjul (Gambia). Today, we depart for the tiny country of Gambia, Before crossing the River Gambia by ferry, we proceed to Juffureh, one of the oldest slave factories which received world wide exposure through Alex Haley’s epic work Roots. The book traces the author’s ancestry from this tiny village to modern America. Juffure is a short walk from the ruins of another slaving post, Albreda. From there you may see James Island, where dungeons used in the slave trade still stand. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 7: Banjul. Morning breakfast, we’ll more enjoying a tour of the Island City of Banjul, famous for its craft markets where price negotiation is the game of every day life. African clothes and garments of all kinds are available for your purchase on the Gambian markets. Then you will visit the capital city of the Gambia, the historical Museum, the Anglican Church the Albert market, the crocodiles sacred pool, school, etc. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 8: Return trip to Dakar with lunch en route. Check in to your hotel for overnight. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 9: Dakar. Day at your leisure for last minute shopping or transactions. Dress your new African outfits to have farewell dinner with entertainment before midnight departure transfer. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 10: Departure. Pick your flight back for home.
