Tour Itinerary:
Day 1. Friday.
- 18:00h Meeting of the group on the parking lot across the street of Holiday Inn Hotel in Skopje. We will start the tour in a comfortable van/bus (with an English speaking guide) driving south on the E-75 road towards Gevgelija.
- 20:00h Arriving in Gevgelija, which is 160 km from the Capitol City of Skopje, and is located in the Mediterranean part of the Republic of Macedonia. After the group accommodates in Hotel “YUGO”, the group will have a dinner at the hotel, followed by a possibility of Casino located inside the hotel.
Day 2. Saturday.
After the breakfast there will be a visit to the Ancient localities of “Vardarski Rid” and “Isar”, with a professional guide (near Gevgelija), where Ancient settlements of Phillip the 2nd (Alexander the Great’s father) have been found and preserved. The oldest known glasses with the ornament of Vergina (an old Macedonian star, symbol of the kingdom of Phillip the 2nd) have been discovered there. Around noon we will visit the museum in Gevgelija, where there are a huge number of the discovered exhibits. The Macedonia tour will end with a lunch in the restaurant of “Javor”, which is located in the village of Mrzenci, Gevgelija (on their own expense, approximately 10 euros per person)
- Around 18:00 hours the group will continue through Polikastro and Alexandria to Veria, Greece (which is one of the most beautiful and friendly towns in the country of Greece), where the group will be accommodated in the hotel “Makedonija” (3*). After the accommodation, the group will have a dinner at their own expense in a Greek tavern in the city of Veria.
Day 3. Sunday.
After the breakfast, the group together with a professional guide will visit Vergina, where the tomb of Phillip (father of Alexander the Great) has been found by professor Andronikos. After visiting the unique museum of Hellas, the group will travel to Pella, which is the birth place of Alexander the Great. There we will visit the archeological site and the museum. After the visit of Pella the group will have an option for lunch at an authentic Greek taverna on their own expense.
- 18:00 – 20:00 hr. The tour is over and the group will be heading towards Skopje.
