The Maasai Walking Safaris enables you to explore areas of great natural and historical importance. This safari puts you right in the middle of wildlife and nature, beautiful scenery, history and the great outdoors. On this safari, you will visit several Maasai villages and therefore understand more the Maasai tribe and their culture.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Arusha and be met by our representative for briefing and overnight.
Day 2-3: After breakfast leave Arusha for Tarangire for hiking and game drive in the Park. You will have the opportunity to learn a great deal about the ecosystem of the area. Overnight and dinner at our private camp and picnic lunch in the afternoon.
Day 4: After breakfast leave Tarangire for the Rift Valley and spend the night at Twiga or private campsite. Spend the afternoon exploring the escarpment the river gorge nearby and enjoy the views over the mountain studded rift.
Day 5: After breakfast proceed to the Ngorongoro highlands at our private campsite. Hiking around the area and Lemagrut Mountain.
Day 6: Climb Lemagrut Mountain and explore the surrounding area. Walk to a Maasai village.
Day 7: After breakfast visit the Olduvai Gorge by car return in the evening.
Day 8: After breakfast descend to the Crater floor for a full Day game drive. Overnight at the same place.
Day 9: After breakfast drive to Olmot mountain to the North Western side of the crater and camp between Irkepus and Nainokanoka Maasai villages to explore the area on foot.
Day 10: Visit a Maasai village and then hike to Olmot mountain crater. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Hike through the North Ngorongoro Maasai land towards Empakai crater. Your vehicle will lead the way with the camping equipment. Camp on the rim of Empakai crater over looking the lake and Ol Doinyo Lengai mountain.
Day 12: Descend to the Empakai crater to explore its rich nature of vegetation and wildlife. A flock of millions of birds roam its shores yearly. Dinner and overnight at the same camp.
Day 13: Leave Empakai and proceed to Gibbs farm lodge where you will relax or explore the rain forest of the low edge of the Ngorongoro rain forest. Dinner and overnight in the lodge.
Day 14: Drive back to Arusha while stopping on the way for buying souvenir and lunch in town.
