Start your fascinating cultural journey by exploring Muscat, the beautiful capital of the Sultanate.
Visit the traditional souq in Muttrah. Walk through the old narrow streets where you can spend time hunting for bargains amongst the traditional wares and unique souvenirs.
You can then visit the Qantab fishing village - next to a beautiful beach, followed by a visit to the Sultan's Al Alam Palace, the walled city of Muscat, Forts Mirani & Jalali, the beautiful palm lined Corniche promenade and Port Sultan Qaboos.
Finally, board the traditional Omani dhow for a twilight cruise in the blue waters.
Next day, you can proceed for a full day excursion to Barkat Al Mawz to see the ancient falaj irrigation system Thereafter, visit Nizwa with its Fort and Souq, the erstwhile capital of Oman, Nizwa is definitely a place to be explored. Points of interest are its majestic Fort and the silver souq, famed for silver souvenirs.
Drive on further to reach Bahla, the ancient, walled town famous for its pottery and a Fort which is on the UNESCO world heritage list. You can then visit Jabrin which has possibly the finest castle built in Oman - that was once also used as a University. You can aslo explore the ruins of the old Tanuf village alongside the newly constructed dam.
AlHamra, famous for its old style architecture awaits you next. Followed by a picnic lunch you can head for the Old Misfah town. The massive mountains of Jebel Akhdar are next - rounding off a wonderful trip.
