Day 1 - Depart JFK on a scheduled Wide Body jet to Cairo. All meals and beverages served on board flight.
Day 2 - Arrive Cairo where you will be met by our representative who will help with immigration and customs formalities. Transfer to Cairo Sheraton for an overnight.
Day 3 - Breakfast. Then you will be met by your tour guide to start your tour visiting the Pyramids of Giza. Khufu's Pyramid, the largest of the three was built in the 4th dynasty about 2960 B.C., and is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. In the front of the Pyramid of Khephre, we find the Sphinx carved from a single piece of stone, it is a lion's body with a Pharaoh's head thought to be a portrait of the Pharaoh Khephre. Have a camel ride by the pyramids area if you wish, then continue your tour visiting the Egyptian museum famous for its antiquities from Egypt's Pharaonic period, which dates back some 50 centuries and includes the fabulous treasures of King Tutankhamen. Afternoon excursion to old Cairo, visiting the very old Coptic churches and the oldest Jewish Synagogue of Ben Ezra. Continue your tour to the Citadel of Salah-El-Din and the Mohammed Ali Mosque and the Medieval Bazaars of Khan-El-Khalili where you can bargain for Egyptian goodies including jewelry, hand-tooled leather items and much more. Return to your hotel for an overnight. (B)
Day 4 - Breakfast. You will be met and Transfer to Cairo Airport for flight to Aswan. Then you will be met by our representative and embark on cruise ship. Later you will visit by "Felucca" the Elephantine island, the Mausoleum of Agha Khan and the Botanical Gardens. Lunch, dinner and overnight on board ship. (Optional trip to Abu Simbel is $219.00 additional) (B, L, D)
Day 5 - Breakfast then visit the High Dam, The Granite Quarries, and the Unfinished Obelisk. Lunch and then cruise to Kom Umbo. Visit the Ptolemaic Temple of Kom Umbo, which was dedicated to two gods: the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon-headed god Horus. Sail to Edfu. Dinner and overnight on board. (B, L, D)
Day 6 - Breakfast. Visit Edfu to see The Temple of Horus, the best preserved Egyptian temple. Lunch. Sail to Esna and visit the Temple of God Khnum, also a Ptolemaic period temple. Continue to Luxor. Dinner and overnight on board. (B, L, D)
Day 7 - Breakfast. Cross to the West Bank. Visit the Valley of the Kings where 64 pharaohs have been discovered - also visit the Valley of the Queen's including The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari. See the Colossi of Memnon. Lunch. Afternoon visit the temple of Karnak, which took over 1500 years to build and is considered the world's largest religious complex. Then visit the temple of Luxor, which was started by Amenhotep III and was completed by Ramesses II. Disembark your cruise ship, where you will be met and transferred to Luxor airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival at Cairo airport you will be met and transfer to your hotel, the Cairo Sheraton for an overnight. (B, L)
Day 8 - Breakfast. You will be met by our representative and Transfer to Cairo Airport where you will be helped for check-in and immigration formalities for your flight back home to JFK, which departs at 8:00 a.m. and arrives same day early afternoon around 1:13 p.m. (B)
