We start the tour in Varmahlið, and take you by car up to Vesturdalur valley (about 30-40 min.). The 2 hour ride takes you through a variety of rapids, and is a perfect way for beginners to learn the skills of rafting. More advanced rafters will enjoy getting to know a new river, and seeing the impressive West River gorge.
Half-way down, we stop for refreshments and everyone can sample some hot cocoa made with hot spring water that bubbles up on the riverbank. If conditions allow, you can also try some cliff jumping! We end the tour on the calm waters of the Heraðsvotn river, where you can try some floating and swimming before we haul up the boats and return to Varmahlið.
