Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Tunis Airport .Our representative will welcome you and gather for a welcome cocktail after transfer to your hotel. Info-meeting at the evening to answer to your questions and suggestions.
Day 2: Discover Tunis (listed as world heritage by UNESCO) and taste its spiritual and physical variety and diversity. Admire the largest collection of roman mosaics world wide in Bardo Museeum and its magnificently decorated rooms. In Carthage find out about the traces of Phoenicians and Romans and visit the Byrsa-Hill former Carthaginian city, former Ports and wonders and traces of the Antonine dynasty, those great huge roman Baths with their amazing see-view. Crone the day with leisure in Sidi Bousaid, this white and blue washed village and enjoy the superb view on the baie of Tunis.
Day 3: Bizerte - Tabarka.
Enrooted for Bizerte, You'll appreciate an excellent stop in Utica. It's listed by UNESCO as a very important World Heritage Site! Upon arrival to Bezerte, enjoy your lunch and benefit from your stay there exploring this city “nicknamed the Venice of the north”. Bizerte is famous for its picturesque old ports and extended beaches. Don’t miss to admire the Genoese Fort and the “Aiguilles by Tabarka Beach”.
Overnight in Tabarka.
Day 4: Bulla regia - Dugga.
We'll dedicate the day to Bulla region and Dugga discovery. This site is a rich archaeological destination in North Africa. These roman ruins including baths, a theater, a temple, an Amphitheatre as well as villas were built underground by the Romans hundreds of years ago to escape the fierce heat fof the sun. Enjoy your lunch in Dugga! This site is the best preserved Roman city in Africa, Listed by UNESCO as a very interesting World heritage. Standing on a high valley side, Dugga was the original seat of the Numidian king "Massinissa".
Oernight in Hammamet or Kairouan.
Day 5: Kairouan - Sbeitla - Gafsa.
This morning, we'll head down to Central Tunisia. Kairouan "The Aghlabids Capital" is a large holy city. We'll visit the Great Mosque; the first of its kind to be built in North Africa. The Aghlabids pool, Sidi Sahbi where you can make your tatoo and enjoy the magnificient Barbier and mausoleum architecture. Lunch in Kairouan and drive afterwards to the Roman site of Sbeitla - a main antic city in Central Tunisia. It's fringed with olive groves and arable fields. Close by is Sufetula rich with Roman ruins and landmarks.
Overnight in Gafsa.
Day 6: Sahara Excursion.
It's a full day free time on your own leisure if you're not signing in the Sahara optional excursion. During this trip, you'll discover the extended sea of hot sand in South Tunisia, the mountain oasis, canyons, waterfalls, atlas landscapes and much more.
Oernight in Gafsa or Tozeur.
Day 7: Tozeur - Nefta - Shott el Djerid - Douz
Today, we'll head down deeper into Tunisia arriving to the South, to Tozeur, Nefta. And via the salt lake of Shott el Djerid we'll get to Douz (optional camel ride in the Gate of the Sahara).
Overnight in Douz.
Day 8: Matmata - Mednine - Ksar Hadada - Tataouine
It's a Sahara discovery day! We'll start Matmata - the setting in the movie “Star Wars”, Mednine and Ksar Hadada - as one of the most striking complexes of former fortress-granaries to be found in South Tunisia! Enjoy your full lunch in Tataouine before we afternoon drive to Chenini, listed by UNESCO as World Heritage as well.
Overnight in Tataouine.
Day 9: Djerba Island - EL Djem.
In the morning we drive to the island of Djerba along the Roman Road to visit one of the oldest Synagogues in the world and the center of pottery Guellala. In afternoon we drive to Houmt El Souk and discover the capital of the island.
Overnight in Jerba.
Day 10: Sousse - Mahdia - Monastir.
We take the ferry from Jerba to stop in Gabes .Enjoy lunch in Mahres then drive to EL Djem, the Roman Amphitheater, then Sousse where we'll overnight. Tunisia beautifully stretching coast are yours to discover today. Sousse is an important tourist destination with its warm beaches mainly Port El Kantaoui, Mahdia and Monastir.
Day 11: Cap Bon - the Roman Grottes.
Discover the peninsula of Cap Bon and the Roman Grottes. Lunch in Cap Bon area. Afternoon: drive back to your hotel.
