Lake Ngobosoleni is unlike any other esturine system in south Africa. It is connected with Lake Shazibi in the north (Situated just behind Sodwana Bay Lodge) and together flow through an extensive swamp forest and reed swamp. Eventually they flow into the sea at Jesser Point. The Lake also boasts a small popultion of Crocodiles and a few Hippo. Bird life is excellent around the lake and there is a big variety of indiginous trees and flowers. What could be better than sitting on a hill with the sea in the distance, the lake before you and a beautiful African sunset behind you?

Reedbuck, Grey Duiker and Steenbuck are some of the Antelope that can be seen. This area is one of the few places in South Africa where you can see the Sidestripe Jackal. You can also see Zebra.
