Our Middle New River trips typically include a paddle boat and duckies (inflatable kayaks), allowing your family to share the experience of taming the playful rapids solo, as a team or taking turns doing both! Our friendly, experienced guide staff will highlight the Seven Principals of Leave No Trace, entertain you with the coal mine and Indian history of the Gorge, and enlighten you on the flora, fauna and wildlife indigenous to the New River Gorge Area. Your fun-filled day of learning, discovery and adventure will allow you and your family to create memories that will last a lifetime.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: The Middle New, our most popular family trip, combines adventure and scenery to create a trip that will be enjoyed by kids of all ages. The Middle New is one of the most scenic areas of The New River Gorge and it’s rapids are small and playful, yet still provide a thrill for the entire family. Explore the Middle New in a raft or get up close with the rapids in an inflatable kayak, what we call a duckie, for no additional charge. Riverside lunch (with B&J!) is included.
