Tour Itinerary:
Day 01: Goa
You are comfortably settled by our escorts aboard the Deccan Odyssey at the Madgaon Railway Station in Goa in the evening. Report at 1615hrs. Departure at 1715hrs
Overnight and Dinner on the Royal Train. Enroute to Pune.
Day 02: Kolhapur, Pune
Morning - Arrival at Kolhapur City, known as Karveer or Dakshin Kashi of Maharashtra, situated on the banks of river Panchaganga. Board the bus to visit; New Palace, a royal palace partly converted into museum, Bhawani Mandap (The Town Hall), witness traditional Martial Art locally known as "Mardani Khel", An exquisitely carved Mahalaxmi Temple a temple of goddess Ambabai visited by millions pilgrims, Shalini Palace built of intricately carved black stone & Italian Marble stands on the west side of lake Rankala, watch cultural programme and visit to handicraft stalls for perfect memorabilia. At noon board the train at Kolhapur station to depart for Pune. Lunch onboard. Leisure time till evening. In the evening arrive at Pune. Board the bus to visit Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum, houses variety of artifacts of the 17th, 18th & 19th Centuries. Board the train from Pune railway station. Dinner onboard.
Day 03: Aurangabad
It’s Aurangabad the next morning. Get set to travel along the rolling hills and picturesque ruins of the past. After a scrumptious breakfast in the train, the luxury buses take to you to the majestic forts of Daulatabad. An impregnable defense in its days, it still stands tall and proud. Aurangabad, founded by the ruler Aurangzeb, has scores of monuments, tombs and Buddhist caves. Visit the world famous Ellora Caves. This World Heritage Site’s 34 brilliantly carved rock-cut temples represent Buddhist, Jain and Hindu faiths. Back to Aurangabad for lunch with live cultural entertainments. Also on the itinerary is the Bibi-Ka-Maqbara. Finally for a perfect memorabilia, do spend time shopping at Aurangabad.
Day 04: Ajanta & Nashik
Seventh day brings you to Jalgaon railway station. After a royal breakfast in the train, board the MSRTC bus to surround yourself by the dramatic views of the Waghora Valley; the hideout of the Ajanta Caves. Older than Ellora Caves, these caves once lost to the world, were discovered accidentally by a party of British solders on a hunting trip. ‘Bodhisattva Padmapani’, ‘Boddhisattva Avalokitesvara’, ‘The Birth Place of Buddha’ and ‘The Thousand Buddha’ are few amongst the many fine murals and sculptures you’ll cherish. Then a mouth watering lunch as you reach Nasik, from where you visit the Panchavati Ghat and move on to Mumbai while spending your final night in luxury on the train.
Day 05: Mumbai
Enjoy the breakfast onboard as the sun rises over the beautiful Mumbai. You arrive at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus at 0830hrs after a long dream journey. And as you finish this Royal Journey, needless to mention an unforgettable one, you will only wonder why good things have to end, perhaps this end is just a beginning. A beginning for you to travel, to explore the unseen lands ; full of questions and unfound answers.
