Join us for an ocean passage:
Before you buy that new ocean passagemaker, before you build a new boat, gain offshore experience before heading offshore on your own, experience offshore high latitude sailing without the expense of preparing your own boat and documented miles and seadays for licenses and certifications such as RYA or USCG.

Because this is NOT a certificate course, we can cover topics entirely based on your interests, and give you the time to practice skills that will help you pass exams or begin ocean passagemaking on your own.
Experience required:
- RYA Competent Crew Certification, or
- ASA Basic Keel Boat Certification, or
- Sailing/cruising experience on your own boat, or
- Roughly 25 days sailing experience day racing or cruising on someone else's boat, or
- A coastal voyage with us where you've demonstrated your competency
- A willingness to work outside in cold, wet weather
- Good physical fitness.

Airfare is not included in the tour price.
All ocean voyages are fixed price (we base our prices on roughly $150 per day, or $1 a mile, based on our best estimate of how long the passage will take); see the below for the voyage schedule and pricing.
Price Includes:
- Food and lodging aboard Seal from the scheduled day the voyage begins until 24 hours after our arrival in the destination port;
- Use of materials/texts available on board the boat - for example, we have a plastic sextant available for practice; you may prefer to bring your own;
- Port fees;
- Use of safety equipment, including harnesses;
- Sheets, towel, pillows.
Price does not include:
- Transportation to and from the boat;
- Shoreside accommodation;
- Alcohol;
- You must have a valid passport, visas if required, and a flexible air or sea ticket from the destination country to your home country;
- Personal medical and evacuation insurance;
- Personal clothing, including foul weather gear, seaboots, sleeping bags.
