Pucon lies nestled in the shadow of Volcan Villarrica, Chile’s most active volcano. “Mamas and Tapas” is the most frequented pub, a good place to sit by the fire and chat with locals and international travelers alike. Our rustic and cozy lodgings at Cabañas Ruca-Malal, is only a short walk from downtown, and all are equipped with wood burning stoves.

To get down, click in, strap on and commence carving.
Whichever day we do not spend hiking the volcano, we will take advantage of the ski resort built on Villarrica skiing the intricate lava flows and natural half pipes. Views from Villarrica are some of the most beautiful in all of Chile, including all of the surrounding volcanoes and lakes. Pucon also offers some of the most amazing hotsprings in the world, perfect to soak our tired bones.

Days 5-6: Summit Volcan Lonquimay
We have one day to ski the resort, Corralco and one day to ski the less visited Arenales. If the right the conditions present themselves we will make a summit attempt to get a truly spectacular view. These days will be a journey back to a day without lift lines, when riding the snow as about a connection between you and the mountain. The summit takes between 2 and 4 hours depending on hiking speed.
Day 7: Travel to Termas De Chillan
On day seven, we will journey north to the city of Las Trancas, near the resort at Termas de Chillan. Spend the day watching the countryside fly past the windows and let your legs recover from all the fun. The Salto de Laja, an impressive waterfall, will be a great place to stop and snap some pictures. The city of Chillan, one hour from our final destination, is noted for having Chile’s finest market.
