Just picture a scene of open plains with rolling hills and free flowing rivers, so large that it stretches out over three drainage systems, one draining to the Arctic Ocean (north), one draining to the Pacific Ocean (east) and one draining to the enclosed Central Asian basin (south). Each drainage system is full of different kinds of fish such as the Tiamen, Lenok, Grayling, Pike, Sturgeon, etc. The main fishing challenge is catching a Tiamen, one of the largest, if not the largest Salmonoid which often reaches 1,5 metres in length. You will find them lying at the bottom of a pool waiting to intercept any hapless mammals or birds that have been swept away with the stream.

In the evening cast mice imitations! Our experienced staff will guide you to the different spots along the river, where you can catch the smaller species or the larger ones. Whether you are an enthusiastic amateur or you live to fish, our tours will meet your fishing expectations. Well-organised logistical supports make our tours accessible to most and are children friendly.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Upon arrival at the airport we will be welcomed by your guide. He will bring us to your comfortable, centrally located hotel. In the afternoon we will have a drive to Zaisan Memorial, build by the Russians to commemorate unknown soldiers from different wars. Located on a Southern hill of Ulaanbaatar, we will be able to enjoy an excellent view of the capital and the surrounding countryside. (Hotel, L, D)

Day 2: After breakfast we will leave Ulaanbaatar for the countryside. Our first stop will be 5 hours westwards driving at Kharkhorin (also called Karakorum), site of the 13th century capital of the Mongolian Empire created by Chinggis Khan. Very little is left from this legendary city. In the 16th century, Mongolia's biggest Monastery was build from the ruins of Kharkhorin. Now Erdene Zuu Monastery is all that remains of what once was a huge monastery of 100 temples and about 1.000 lamas residencing there. Overnight in a ger camp (Ger Camp, B, L, D)

Day 3: In the morning we will go on driving westward to reach in the afternoon Chuluut River. The river flows through a canyon where it cuts down through a thick layer of basalt formation created ages ago by volcanic activities. Today the inactive volcanoes still rise in the middle of a black volcanic rocky scene. Close to the fishing area is the Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake. It is one of the most beautiful lakes of the country formed by lava flows from a volcanic eruption. An optional afternoon trip will be organised to the lake. We will set up our camp close to one of the good fishing spots. (Tented Camp, B, L, D)

Days 4 - 10: Fishing days. We will be guided to different spots along the river. (Tented Camp, B, L, D)

Day 11: Early in the morning we will depart direction Ulaanbaatar. In the evening we will stop at the foothills of the Khogno Khan Mountains. It is an impressive massif in the open steppes. Not far from here runs the Tasarkhai Els, a 100 km long sand dune. (Ger Camp, B, L, D)

Day 12: In the morning before leaving we will pay a short visit at the nice little Uvgun Monastery. Beginning of the afternoon we will arrive in Ulaanbaatar. (Hotel, B, L, D)

Day 13: Free day in Ulaanbaatar. In the evening we will have a farewell dinner in a good restaurant. (Hotel, B, D)

Day 14: After breakfast, transfer to the airport for departure.
