Lincoln County is a virtual haven of artists with talents ranging from conservative to ultra "unique". Come explore the vibrant art scene with us! We have several tours available and are constantly scoping out new additions to the routes.
- San Patricio (Hondo Valley) - This area dates back to the 1850's and has some of the most beautiful scenery in Lincoln county.
- Hurd-LaRinconada Gallery - This rural setting gallery features five artists covering threee generations. See the works of N.C. Wyeth, Andew Wyeth, Peter Hurd, Henriette Wyeth and Michael Hurd. The Sentinel Ranch houses original works for your viewing and signed reproductions are also availalble. Guest house adobe casitas are situated beneath foothills near the orchards. These guest houses are available year round and are a great place to relax and soothe yourself in the refuge of the ranch.
- Benson Fine Art - located in a 130 year old adobe complex offers original art by period and contemporary Southwest Artists - oils, works on paper, photographs, sculpture and fine handcrafted jewelry, art pottery and weavings. Native American art and artifacts, antiques and other historical pieces for the discerning collector. "Ranked among the best galleries in Southern New Mexico, Benson Fine Art exhibits an outstanding array of works by period and contemporary Southwestern artists along with museum quality American Indian and ethnographic art and artifacts. Richard Harris "Hidden New Mexico" 3rd Edition 2001.
- Hondo Iris Farm and Gallery - houses the works of Alice Warder Seeley and features paintings, sculpture and jewelry. In season the Iris blooms create beautiful colors in the area around the farm.
- Lincoln, New Mexico, Ellis County Store - One of New Mexico's favorite country inns and critically acclaimed Restaurants. The history of the Ellis Store is as fascinating as its beauty. The Lincoln County War, which raged from 1878 until 1881, included many famous participants such as Pat Garrett and William "Billy the Kid" Bonney. Billy was a member of the Tunstall-Mc Sween "Regulators". A portion of these men took refuge in the Ellis Store during the five day gun battle. Billy was later held in house arrest at the Ellis Store awaiting his pardon from Governor Lew Wallace.
