Your Itinerary:

DAY 1 WINDHOEK • ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
(Borton Overseas can arrange a pre-tour hotel night in Windhoek) Depart Windhoek and head north via Okahandja, for a visit to a local market and to shop for wood carvings and curios. We visit the Otjikoto Lake, Namibia's largest natural lake, and continue to our lodge situated on the border of the Etosha National Park. Mokuti Lodge or similar (LD)

DAY 2 ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
Today we will spend a full day in this world class game park, visiting a number of waterholes to observe the wildlife. Etosha, translated, means 'The place of dry water' and here we get our first view of the magnificent pan. Mokuti Lodge or similar (BD)

DAY 3 ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
We again enter the park, driving along the vast saltpan with stops at various waterholes and game viewing en route. We stop for lunch at the Halali Rest camp (own account). After lunch, we continue westwards through the park and on to our overnight stop. Namatubis Guest Farm or similar (BD)

DAY 4 ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK • DAMARALAND
Today we make an early start to see the highlights of Damaraland, one of the last true wilderness areas in Africa. We leave our hotel after breakfast, heading through Otjo and then on to Khorixas, the capital of this region. The journey takes us through scenic landscapes and Damara villages before we reach the petrified forest just prior to arriving at our lodge in time for lunch.
Twyfelfontein Lodge or similar (BD)

DAY 5 DAMARALAND
After a relaxed breakfast, we visit the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein, and then on to see some of the fascinating geological features for which the area is famous, such as the “organ pipes” and “burnt mountain.” The afternoon is at leisure, although those who wish to can take a nature drive on which you may be fortunate to see the elusive desert elephants and other wildlife in this area (own account). Twyfelfontein Lodge or similar (BD)

DAY 6 DAMARALAND • SWAKOPMUND
We leave our lodge after breakfast, driving through the Namib Desert to Henties Bay, where we stop for lunch (own account). From Henties Bay we follow the salt road along the Atlantic Ocean to the charming coastal resort of Swakopmund, where we will take a short tour of the town and visit some of the region’s natural wonders, such as the ancient Welwitschia mirabilis, found nowhere else in the world; the moon landscape; and the Oasis Goanikontes before checking in to our hotel.
Eberwein Hotel or similar (B)

DAY 7 SWAKOPMUND
Today is a free day in this charming town. Sightseeing options (own account) include visiting the museum, the best in Namibia; the aquarium; the crystal gallery; or simply to just explore the town. Another wonderful option is the harbor cruise. The cruise is spent searching for dolphins and whales, not forgetting the two stowaways, Robbie and Israel, two tame Cape fur seals who will entertain you when you join the cruise! Delicious light snacks, oysters, and drinks are included (cruise on own account). We suggest trying a special fish dinner in a small local restaurant (own account).
Eberwein Hotel or similar (B)

DAY 8 SWAKOPMUND • SOSSUSVLEI
After a late breakfast, we travel via Walvis Bay to the edges of the Namib Desert and then proceed through the southern region of the Namib Naukluft Park, the Kuiseb Canyon, and the Gaub Pass before we reach our accommodation. Once again, we are treated to the expanses of Namibia, unlike anywhere else in the world (in fact, in the Nama language, Namib means “vast”).
Namib Desert Lodge or similar (BD)

DAY 9 SOSSUSVLEI
We visit the spectacular dunes at Sossusvlei, reputedly the highest dunes in the world. Energetic guests may choose to climb to the top of the dunes, before returning to our lodge.
Namib Desert Lodge or similar (BD)

DAY 10 SOSSUSVLEI • WINDHOEK
This morning we have a leisurely start, leaving our lodge after a relaxing breakfast, before heading east toward Windhoek. We will drive through the scenic Spreetshoogte Pass and then on to Windhoek, arriving just after lunch where your tour ends. You arrive at your Windhoek city hotel at approximately 15h00; alternatively, you can be dropped off at the Windhoek International Airport by 16h00. (B)
