This epic adventure combines two legendary African experiences - a climb of Africa's most revered summit, 19,344' Kilimanjaro, and a wildlife safari in its most celebrated game country, the Serengeti Plain and Ngorongoro Crater. Activities on the tour include: climbing, safari game drives and touring, cultural experience.
Trip Extension: Extend your stay with six days on the exotic island of Zanzibar, home to some of the world's most beautiful beaches. Swim, snorkel, dive and sea kayak in the warm turquoise waters, explore an underground coral cave, take a spice tour and visit ancient ruins.
Your Itinerary
Days 1-3: Mbahe Village - Shimba Farm
We transfer Mbahe Village, home of the Chagga people and Kili's gateway for over a century. As guests of our climbing leader we are welcomed by his entire village! Recover from your flight and prepare for the climb up the classic Shira Route. We leave early the third day for Shimba Farm, a huge plantation where we do a warm-up hike to a beautiful forested gorge.
Days 4-8: Big Tree Camp to Arrow Glacier Camp
Climb steadily through luxuriant tropical forest, enchanted moorlands and Kili's stunning alpine zone. As we get higher, sparkling glaciers and the spectacular Western Breach come into view. Our guides make sure we're comfortable and plenty of time to acclimatize is built into our climb.
Days 9-11: Kilimanjaro Summit - Mbahe Village
Ascend Kili's awesome Western Breach and arise early on Day 10 for our climb to the top of Africa - 19,344-feet Uhuru Peak! After tea and snacks, congratulations and photos, descend to Mweka High Camp, and the next day takes us down to Mweka Gate.
Days 12-13: Mbahe Village
Activities include nature walks, swimming, visiting with the local people, drumming, and sampling homemade banana beer! We gather for our celebration dinner and the following morning depart for the airport for flights home.

Extra charge for groups under 4. Single Supplement: $500 for climb and safari, $300 for climb only.
Trip Fees Include: Lodging, meals, and activities as described above, guides and support staff, transportation including shuttles to and from Kilimanjaro International Airport, camping equipment except sleeping bags and pads for climb.
