If you decide to trek through the dramatic highlands of Tien-Shan, this program allows you to explore remote destinations and enjoy the greatest peaks of Tien-Shan - Pobeda Peak (7439 m.) and Khan-Tengri Peak (7010 m.). Our destination is Inylchek Base Camp which is ideally situated in the heart of North Tien-Shan at the South Inylchek glacier approximately at 4000 m above the sea level.
Your Itinerary
Day 1: Your guide meets you at the airport in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan's capital, and takes you to a hotel, where you can recuperate after your long flight.
Day 2: The day starts with a detailed briefing of what the rest of the trip holds. Then we start our adventure! Today we drive to Karakol along the northern shore of the unique Lake Issyk-Kul (380 km.). It's nearly 700 m. deep, 170 km. long and 70 km. across and surrounded by mountain ranges of Kungey Ala-Too and Terskey Ala-Too. We complete the day by taking a hot shower or sauna in the Guest House A&K in Karakol.
Day 3: Today we travel from Karakol along the Karkara river valley through the Kyzyl-Moinok Pass till the Echkily-Tash frontier post (120 km.). Then we walk to our first camping site.
Days 4-6: These days we trek through the Tuz Pass (4001 m.) to a place the local people called Chon -Tash opposite Nansen Peak (5697 m.).
Day 7: Today our destination is the camping area on the Green Glade.
Day 8: We have a chance to see the glacier-dammed Lake Merzbacher, it drains rapidly once a year. Then we return to our camp on the Green Glade.
Days 9-11: We trek along the South Inylchek glacier to the Khan-Tengry base camp where mountain climbers from all over the world rest and prepare for their climbing. Khan-Tengri's triangular pyramid makes it among the most beautiful mountains in the world; it's also the world's most northern 7,000-er. Peak Pobeda, with its hanging glaciers and the three-kilometer wind-whipped ridge remains a 'hard nut' to crack for most mountaineers.
Day 12: A short helicopter flight takes us to the Mayda-Adyr camp and we can see all our long way from the height. We spend night in the camp and relax in the sauna.
Day 13: We come back to the civilization and accommodate in a hotel in Bishkek.
Day 14: After brief city-tour of Bishkek you depart from Kyrgyzstan. We enjoyed hosting you in Central Asia and hope to see you once again!
