Your Itinerary:

Day 1: Bangkok-Yangon.
Arrive at Yangon airport and transfer to hotel. Yangon is the nation's capital and the gateway to Myanmar. The numerous shady parks and beautiful lakes have earned it a reputation as the "Garden City of the East". Afternoon guided tour includes visits to Sule Pagoda, which enshrines one of Buddha's hairs, the Reclining Buddha Temple and Scott Market with hundreds of stores. Then enjoy the sunset at the incredible Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the world's most spectacular religious monuments. The golden dome of the Shwedagon Pagoda rises 98 meters above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold. There are always many Myanmar people praying and making offerings at the Shwedagon, a fascinating place to spend time watching the world go by. Overnight: Shangri-la Traders Hotel.

Day 2: Yangon- Bagan by air.
Early morning transfer to airport for your flight to Bagan. One of the greatest sights of Asia, Bagan is not to be missed. More than 2000 temples, pagodas large and small rise up from the green delta plain. We start our full day sightseeing with visits to see the golden stupa of Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, Ku Byauk Gyi, a temple with exquisite murals of Jataka scenes, Khay Min Ga Temple noted for its spectacular panoramic view of the area's many monuments and Ananda Temple with four huge standing Buddha images and numerous seated figures in niches around the galleried interior. After a lunch at a local restaurant, visit a lacquer ware workshop to watch craftsmen skillfully making this most famous of Bagan handicrafts. At sunset climb to the top of one of the monuments to enjoy magnificent views over Bagan's temples and Ayeyarwady River. Overnight: Thiripyitsaya Sakura Hotel.

Day 3: Bagan.
Today we have an excursion to the spectacular Mount Popa - an extinct volcano with its shrine dedicated to animist spirits, known as "Nats". For the energetic, time to climb the 777 steps to the shrine at the top of the peak. Return Bagan in the afternoon, free at leisure the rest of the day. Overnight: Thiripyitsaya Sakura Hotel.

Day 4: Bagan- Mandalay by air.
Transfer to airport for your morning flight to Mandalay. We start our full day sightseeing with a drive to the ancient city of Amarapua. Visit Mahagandayon a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study; continue to 200-year-old “U Bein” teak bridge, built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was the royal capital. Then drive across Ava Bridge to visit the picturesque Saga Hill. After lunch at Amarapura Restaurant, take the local ferry to visit Ava, located on an island between Ayeyarwady River and Myitnge Rivers. We will travel by horse carts and pass through the ancient city walls, and visit a brick and stucco monastery called Maha Aungmye Bonzan. Visit some village homes to see the local handicrafts, such as silk weaving, cane mats, alms bowls. Overnight: Sedona Hotel.

Day 5: Mandalay.
As the seat of Myanmar's last kingdom, Mandalay remains an important spiritual center with numerous old monasteries and unique pagodas. Today we go exploring at the Mahamuni Pagoda, the Royal Palace and the Mahagandayon Monastery. In the afternoon, we take a boat trip to Mingun, site of a brick pagoda towering 50 meters above the Ayeyarwady River, and home to the world's largest intact bronze bell. Overnight: Sedona Hotel.

Day 6: Mandalay- Inle Lake.
Transfer to airport for the flight to Heho. Upon arrival, transfer to Nyaungshwe on the edge of Inle Lake and board boat to the hotel. Afternoon guided boat tour to the village Maing Thauk. The village visit is particularly interesting on market day. Overnight: Inle Princess Resort.

Day 7: Inle Lake.
Today we embark on a full day tour of the Inle Lake area- a photographer’s dream, its calm waters are dotted with floating vegetation and fishing canoes, to which the scenic high hills provide the perfect backdrop. Pass endless floating gardens, where fruit and vegetables are grown. Visit Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the holiest religious site in southern Shan State, and stop at Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery which is famous for its "jumping cats". Overnight: Inle Princess Resort.

Day 8: Inle Lake – Yangoon.
Transfer to airport for our return flight back Yangon. Time permits, we will drive through the colonial style buildings in downtown, Chinatown and the Indian Quarters, take a walk along the Yangon River to see the busy harbor. Then we conclude our journey with a late afternoon flight back Bangkok.
