On this tour, we travel through the Gaspe Bay, northern Quebec, the magnificent scenery of the Laurentian Mountains, and into Labrador. We camp at Scenic Grand Hermine Wilderness Campground, view Hamilton Falls and the Churchill Gorge.Visit Goose Bay and Northwest River.
Enjoy a guided tour of Churchill Falls Hydro Generating Station, one of the largest in the world. Travel through the magnificent wilderness of Western Labrador and explore numerous other sites. A great trip and a memorable experience. Travel through Northern Quebec, the magnificent Laurentian Mountains and into the interior of Labrador.

Your Itinerary

Day 1: Leave Halifax and travel through Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to Matane on the Gaspe Bay coast of the St.Lawrence river, stopping at different points of interest along the way. We spend the night in a motel

Day 2: We take the ferry across the St. Lawrence river(approx.2 hrs.)to Bay Comeau where we have a short stop for a bit of shopping. We then travel north through the Laurentian mountains to Manicougan#5 reservoir and the Daniel Johnson Dam(the largest arch dam in the world)where we will take a guided tour of the dam. This is a full days drive with lots of stops along the way at various interesting sites. We will spend the night here in a motel.

Day 3: We leave for Labrador City traveling through the wilderness with lots of scenic stops along the way to explore and take pictures. On arrival in Labrador City we have lunch and do a bit of shopping and then travel on to Grand Hermine Wilderness Park where we will spend the night.

Day 4: This is a open day where we hike, canoe, tour the surrounding area, swim or just "chill out". Lots of great hiking trails and a great beach for those who like to swim. There are hot showers, and modern toilets at the site. Remember there are nature trails, wildlife is often seen and the scenery is great so don't forget your cameras and binoculars

Day 5: We travel north to Churchill Falls and a tour of one of the largest hydro generating stations in the world. On the way we will take a side hike to view Hamilton Falls which is higher than Niagara . If time permits we can take a side trip to see some black bears.We spend the night here at a motel.

Day 6 We travel to Goose Bay- Happy Valley which is the gateway to the Labrador coast.
We will see the Heritage museum and the Hudson's Bay museum in Northwest River and tour the towns stopping at interesting sites.
We will spend the night here at a B&B.

Day 7: We travel back Labrador City and Wabush for a tour of the towns and some sightseeing, shopping and lunch .Night here at a hotel

Day 8: We say our goodbyes and drive through the wilderness to Bay Comeau (a full days drive) with lots of interesting stops along the way. We spend the night in Bay Comeau.

Day 9: We board the ferry and cross the St Lawrence River to Matane and then travel back to Halifax through the Gaspe of Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
