Rivers such as Mitchell River, Horsefly River, Cariboo River, Quesnel River, Blue Lead, and some of our favorite smaller rivers and creeks. These waters are all home to wild native trout ranging in size up to 20 lbs. With this wide choice of opportunities our guides will pick the waters offering the best fly fishing opportunities during your trip. With this package you also get to enjoy the magnificent mountain beauty of our back country, uncrowded and pleasing not only to the eye, but to your spirit.
Your Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Day. Settle into our facilities, relax, unpack your gear, get your casting arm in shape, perhaps do a little fishing close by the lodge, or some exploring or beach combing. (D).
Days 2-5: Begin your fly fishing day with an early, hearty breakfast then spend the day on the water catching the big ones. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon to tell of the day's adventures and enjoy declicious home cooked meals. Evenings are free to rest, socialize, share fish tales, and plan the strategy for the next day.
You may choose to spend part of one or more of your days exploring and taking the sights of Quesnel Lake or perhaps trying out one of the smaller lakes which also boast excellent trout fishing. (B/L/D).
Day 6: Departure day. Over breakfast enjoy the lake views and the fish tales and vow to return to challenge the Quesnel Lake rainbows again. Say goodbye to new friends. (B).
We also offer an 8 day package with options to fish a number of our other outstanding waters in the Cariboo Mountains and an optional trip through the backcountry to the historic goldrush towns of Barkerville and Wells with plenty of fishing along the way. We overnight in Wells and return to our Quesnel Lake lodge the following day.
