Its situation holds the middle between a rural and urban location, enjoying the best of both worlds. The town center of Alcaucin is a five minute drive away (3 km), with family run shops, tapa bars and restaurant. The nearby Lake Vinuela, a man made reservoir, is just a to be found at the same distance.
The area doesn’t suffer from motorized water sports that are not allowed here, only simple sailing boats and canoes sometimes disturb the usual calmness of the lake. The Mediterranean is also conveniently nearby for those who would like to take a dip in the Ocean: the sandy beaches of Torre del Mar are 24 km from here, a 25 minute drive. For a day-trip, sports or a hike, you will have a wide array to choose from.
The antique city of Antequera and the Picasso museum in Malaga are just a half hour drive, whilst the Sierra de Almijara is a favorite destination for those looking for nature or even mountain climbing. The villa itself has a private, kidney-shaped swimming pool surrounded by a sunny terrace area with terracotta pots. The shady veranda terrace, accessed by steps from the pool area, is an excellent place to enjoy your alfresco meals (a barbecue is provided).
