Playa Kalki aka Alice in Wonderland: For the intermediate diver, Playa Kalki or Alice in Wonderland, is a must see dive spot! The sand channel that separates this very distinct twin reef system is home to friendly French angels, parrotfish, garden eels and stingrays. Playa Kalki is one of the nicest dive spots on the island and is located near the Kadushi Cliffs Resort so divers can climb the steps and rest between dives or sip on refreshing cocktails after a long day exploring the wall.
Tugboat: The site of the tugboat is truly a playground for underwater lovers, offering explorations of a tugboat, a wall, and the deep. The tugboat is very popular amongst the diving community for good reason. The wreck is easily accessible by boat resting at 17 feet and is protected by the southeast side of Caracasbay. Around the corner is a steep wall (100 feet) that tempts divers down to the depths with its spectacular hard and soft corals, morays, scorpion fish, lobsters and thousands of Creole wrasse hiding in the numerous crevices and shallow caverns.
Mushroom Forest: Sport Diver Magazine has rated the Mushroom Forest as one of the "World’s Best Dive" spots for its spectacular scenery. Divers have spent multiple days at the Mushroom Forest exploring new terrain on every dive. The Mushroom Forest is in the remote area of San Nicolas is appropriately named for the number of colossal star coral growing vertically on the sandy plateau. The coral has been consistently eaten away by clams and sponges, leaving behind perfect hiding places for all kinds of tiny creatures. Divers swim through the gargantuan mushroom shaped domes chasing schools of yellow tails, fingerlings and bar jacks and eventually head into a nearby cave full of resting nurse sharks.
Superior Producer: Located near the water plant in Otrabanda lies one of the best wreck dives in the Caribbean. The entrance is by way of slippery rocks and roughing it through difficult wave action and currant, but the five-minute swim is worth the effort once coming upon the perfect cargo freighter sitting upright at a depth of 100 feet and waiting to be explored. Easily spotted in near perfectly clear visibility are playful seahorses and slipper lobsters. Keep an eye out around the mooring for circling barracuda.
