Imagine stepping out of your world and joining ours! Imagine a candlelit dinner taken with fellow guests and our experienced professionals, including psychic! Imagine after dinner exercises that allow you to tune into your inner-self! The early twentieth century saw the hall open its doors to the WW1 wounded to become a convalescent home after which time it reverted for a short period to the family home of the Calverleys
Down Hall dates back to the 14th century when it belonged to the Hatfield Broad Oak Priory. With the dissolution of the Monasteries in 1537 it passed to Barking Abbey, reverting to the Crown in 1539. During the 16th century it was sold by Henry V111 to William Glascock and it is between that period and today that the hall has played host to a number of families including the 2nd Earl of Oxford and Lord RookwoodThe 1930's witnessed the hall being sold to become a school! This long checkered past provides an exciting history that beckons to be investigated! Down Hall offers sheer tranquility and serenity to allow you to escape your world and join ours!
The rooms offer historical sumptuousness, the award winning restaurant offers a fine dining experience, whilst the on site facilities add to your exquisite experience!
