Your host John is an experienced, now retired fishing guide who will be pleased to assist your fishing plans. If you have not fly fished before and would like to learn, stay 4 nights and John will give you free tuition and on-loan gear to get you started.

PARATIHO COTTAGE
Built in 1996 as a modern holiday cottage with wonderful panoramic views of Lake Taupo and the magical reflected night lights of Taupo township 35 kilometres away. Cosy timber lined, large living area with dining table, Sky T.V, log fire, french doors onto a large sundeck with outdoor table lounging chairs and gas B.B.Q.
Two bedrooms each with a super-king bed that can bed split into 2 singles; there are also two sleeping pads in the living room. All bedding is supplied. The kitchen has a full stove, microwave, small grilling oven dishwasher, pantry, large refrigerator with freezer in attached garage. The cottage paraplegic bathroom is split into 3 rooms - bath and handbasin, shower with separate toilet.
PARATINO HOMESTAY
Built in 1999 with a fantastic views of Lake Taupo and Pukawa Bay. The guest accommodation has a separate entrance and a large private patio in front. The large bedroom has a king-size double and single beds, table and chairs, Sky T.V., refrigerator and tea and coffee making facilities. The ensuite is a paraplegic with shower, vanity, wardrobe and separate toilet.
Quiet and private. Covered vehicle garaging. Breakfast, continental or cooked is available in dining area, alfresco style on our breakfast patio or in your bedroom. We have 2 very friendly labrador dogs, Kourtney and daughter Jemima that share our home with "JD" the cat.
Nearby attractions and activities:
Nearby Tongararo River/Lake Taupo and many other small rivers and lakes make up this world famous predominately fly fishing fishery. Kayaking, white water raft fishing, eco tours, hot thermal pools, mountain walks, winter snow skiing at NZ’s largest ski resort 40 mins. drive away. Selection restaurants 10/15 mins. drive.
Paratiho is a 45 minute drive from Whakapapa Ski-field on Mount Ruapehu which offers superb snow skiing in the winter and marvellous summer walking tracks amongst the volcanic terrain. The ski chairlifts continue to operate in the summer and to experience a lunch at 6500 feet on a lovely summers day with panoramic views of surrounding lakes, mountains and countryside, is something to remember.
