Yala, Sri Lanka's most popular wildlife sanctiary is on the other side of the river(the buffer zone), elephants visit the land at night though not evry day. Beautiful forest cover, mountain range and the lively river. Specially arranged camping/park vists, visits to historical temples/palaces, elephant spotting at a lake. Eco activities like tree-planting, picking vegetables/fruits for own consumption/ learn to play a local music instrument, have a portrait drawn etc etc. The world-famous surfing beach is just 40kms, so is world's end in the tea mountains quite close.

KumbukRiver is located 250kms from Colombo, in South-East Sri Lanka, on the edge of a sleepy, gem-rich village called Okkampitiya,which is about 9 kms from central Buttala.
Policy:
Exclusive bookings must be for minimum 2 nights. Bookings must be made at least one month (reservations made earlier than that 25% of total as reservation fee with balance to be paid one month prior to arrival) in advance with full payment even though you may make a late booking depending on availability. Children are welcome, so are solitary visitors or one group up to maximum of 8 persons. Remember costing policy is in line with the fact that this is an exclusive 'single party' eco resort. All visitors are considered to have understood the meaning and objectives of eco/responsible tourism.
