M13258 is located in Wanakena, New York in the least traveled and some say, the most beautiful part of the Adirondacks-the northwest foothills. This is a land of aromatic softwoods and robust hardwoods, pristine lakes, sparkling rivers and innumerable ponds. It is the domain of the beaver and the bald eagle, the bobcat and the snowshoe hare. The terrain is rolling, with established trails leading to fine outlooks, through tall pines, past breath-taking waterfalls.

Fishing. The region is best described as legendary. The numerous rivers, lakes and backcountry ponds offer up brook trout, brown trout, small and large mouth bass, northern pike and panfish with little fishing pressure. You can fish on your own or make use of our Guide Service. We can also provide tackle, boats and bait.

Hunting. Our lodge is open to hunters during big game season and we can arrange for Guides. In addition, we book small game trips unique to our area including grouse in the fall and snowshoe hare in the winter. We have access to both private and public hunting territory. We can also act as an outfitter for your hunting trip by setting up a fully provisioned outpost camp in a true Adirondack wilderness setting.

Property amenities:
The base for M13258 is our lodge, located on the fabled Oswegatchie River, famous for its scenic beauty, remote wildness and fine sport. Our newly constructed lodge consists of 4 bedrooms with private baths. Each room is finely appointed in the lodge style, making for a cozy return at the end of the day’s adventure. The first floor of the lodge is wheelchair accessible. The second floor bedrooms are connected by a balcony, perfect for a group or family. A stately great room with fireplace gives one an opportunity to relax with other guests. In contrast, the study offers a peaceful retreat with connections by telephone and Internet to the outside world. Rounding out the accommodations, our riverside dining room allows the sight and sound of the river to be enjoyed during meals.

Hearty and healthy, the cuisine we offer to our guests is a guiltless exploration of the best the Adirondack North Country has to offer. Our meals are served family style and include a sampling of the wild and sophisticated. When combined with the friendly conversation of a small number of guests, each is the perfect beginning or ending to the day. Lunches are available as well.

Nearby attractions and activities:
Paddling - A paddler’s paradise waits with six nearby rivers offering both quiet flat water and exhilarating whitewater. The Oswegatchie River leads to some of the last remaining stands of virgin timber in the Adirondack Park and connects by carry to other watersheds. Cranberry Lake covers 11 square miles and has numerous flows that beckon both canoe and kayak.

Hiking - Located on the edge of over 200,000 acres of both Adirondack Wilderness and Wild Forest, State hiking trails are well maintained and navigate through a variety of habitats with a gentle grade. There are mountains to climb as well, with scenic vistas and ancient rock outcroppings. For the adventurous, bushwhacking paths offer complete solitude and a true wilderness experience.

Biking- There is mountain biking terrain for all abilities here; quiet wooded roadways without motorized traffic and rugged trails through designated Wild Forest. Road bikers can find some of the best rides in the Adirondacks on excellent county roads, lightly traveled.
