Whether you are an experienced or novice rider, you will find gentle, friendly and sure footed horses for trail rides in the mountains or on the flat. Our wrangles will help you feel both comfortable and confident with your horse. You can be involved with many aspects of ranch life from wrangling horses, putting out salt blocks, branding, sorting, doctoring or herding cattle, or....you may just want to fish, relax and take in the beauty and quiet.
Our working guest ranch is located in the shadows of the stunning and famed Beartooth Mountains along the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River. Raising cattle, sheep, alfalfa, corn and sugar beets have been a family tradition for three generations. Whether you are a novice or an experienced rider, you will find horses suited to your riding ability. Our rides explore the ranch, wide open range and pine covered mountains. Spend your days on the ranch learning about horses and cattle, helping with the chores, exploring nature, fishing or just soaking up the beauty and the quiet.
Property amenities:
Our ranch house features three different wings-the Western Wing, the Lodge Wing and the Family Brands Wing. Each of our rooms (single, queen or deluxe king) features a private bath, air conditioning and stunning views of the river or mountains. Enjoy your hearty, home cooked meals served family style in the common area, and then relax with a book or a puzzle by the fire place. Later you may want to take a soak in the hot tub under a blanket of Montana Big Sky stars.
Once a week we plan an evening ride to the original homestead cabin for a barbecue. If you have had enough riding for the day, you might want to hitch a ride on our wagon!

We plan weekly trips to the historic western towns of Red Lodge, Montana and Cody, Wyoming. You can explore and shop and find everything western imaginable. In Cody plan to attend the evening rodeo. Great fun!
Location:
Our River Ranch is located 60 miles south of Billings, Montana and 40 miles north of Cody, Wyoming.
Policy:
Our Ranch has a minimum 3 day stay, but we encourage you to spend at least a week with us so you can experience a true feel of the west. A 50% non-refundable deposit is is requested when making your reservation with the balance due upon your departure. Should you need to cancel, your deposit will be applied to your next stay with us. Children 6-12 receive a 15% discount. The Montana accomodations tax of 7% will be added to the lodging portion of your tab. There is an additional charge for guided float trips and overnight pack trips. We would be glad to provide airport transportation from either Billings or Cody for an additional charge. Smoking is allowed outdoors only. Pets are welcome on an individual basis. Please check with us prior to your arrival.
