We are located on crystal clear Canyon Lake in Northwestern Ontario and in the heart of the very best sports fishing in Canada for trophy Musky, Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Whitefish and Perch. We are located half of an hour west of Dryden and twenty minutes north of Vermilion Bay. We are a family owned camp and due to the camp's size, we can give personalized attention to all our guests. We also offer all guests one free home-cooked dinner. Guests can get together and meet, relax and enjoy some cocktails.
Our claim to fame is the outstanding Walleye and Musky fishing with many 20 to 30-pound trophy Musky being caught and released all season. Some Musky have been caught up to the 50-pound mark. Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass fishing is also excellent. We also have remote outpost lakes, which have outstanding Lake Trout & Jumbo Perch fishing. Our region has excellent hunting for Black Bear, Moose, Grouse and Whitetail Deer. All our hunts take place in remote areas, which can only be accessed via old abandoned logging roads.
If fishing or hunting is not your main vacation focus, we are also a winter and summer resort offering many activities for the whole family. Winter activities include snowmobiling, ice fishing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, dog sled rides, wildlife viewing and local attractions. Summer activities include canoeing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, ATVing or just relax by the lake with a good book. There is always lots to do at North Country Lodge.

We have warm and comfortable cabins on Canyon Lake, which are fully furnished with enough space for your gear. You will not feel crowded. All guests get one free home-cooked dinner. All cabins have microwave, electric fridge/stove (modern and clean), 3 piece bathrooms (shower toilet sink), living room with couch and chairs, large picture windows, cutlery/dishes/pots/pans/cooking utensils. The lodge has many different games and we also have a good supply of magazines and books for our guests. There is also picnic tables on the grounds.

Nearby attractions and activities:
There is nothing more beautiful than a cool crisp morning with layers of ice on the trees sparkling in the sun. Northwestern Ontario truly is a winter wonderland with many exciting activities. Our winter vacation package will include one adventure trip of ice fishing for Lake Trout. It's an 18-mile snowmobile ride to the lake where we will cook up fresh trout with all the fixings (potatoes, beans etc.). You also get to experience our famous fried Bannock with homemade blueberry jam.
Your winter vacation also includes one tour of a trapline trail and a tea break at a trapper's cabin. We can also arrange a dog sled ride on Canyon Lake for an extra cost. We have other out-lakes with ice fishing for Walleye and Northern Pike, which are accessible by snowmobile. This is a great way to take off with your friends or family and explore the wilderness while experiencing some great fishing. At the end of the day, you come back to your cabin, which is warm and cozy from the wood burning stove. You can spend the rest of the evening playing games, having a few drinks or just relaxing in front of your wood burning stove.

* There are minimum cabin requirements in some of our cabins. We will make every effort to place you in the cabin of your choice, but we reserve the right to make changes based on the number of persons and beds available.
