Settled by Austrian immigrants in the late 1930's and surrounded by sometimes intensely blue, sometimes ominously gray, and at times mirror-like waters, Isla Fresia (Fresia Island) nestles close to the north-eastern shore of Lake Puyehue, with the Andes stretching to the east, and five snow-capped volcanoes rising far above mountains covered by temperate rain forest.
It is here, in the midst of Chile's lake region, 600 miles south of Santiago, the country's capital and international entry point that Red Stags, Fallow Deer, Mufflon Sheep, and Wild Goats were introduced many years ago and have since multiplied to create hunting grounds of sometimes pastoral, sometimes haunting beauty.
At the island lodge, guests are offered custom packages including a selection of the above-described game, in addition to lodging and meals in an atmosphere of privacy and warm hospitality. Packages include hosting of our guests' complete stay in the country. We can arrange all pickups (if desired), licensing of fire arms and trophies, and domestic travel.
Property amenities:
Our family house, originally hand-built by our immigrant parents from wood grown on the island and remodeled over time, is the perfect place to rest for our hunters and their companions. We have several comfortable visitor rooms. All basic services are available, including cellular phone service. Electric power is generated on the island and available as needed. All meals are prepared in our home kitchen and conveniently served to suit hunting schedules. Our package includes open bar service, the best Chilean wines, and Chile’s famous Pisco Sour.
The island has a mild climate, with temperatures ranging normally from 10º to 20º Celsius (50º to 70º Fahrenheit). Sunny days are common, but the weather is changeable, and you are advised to bring good raingear, and also water-proof, firm shoes or boots. Some boot sizes are available at the lodge. Our service starts with the pick up of our visitors at the domestic airport. Our all-included lodging, dining and ground transportation program ends when we return a happy hunter back to the same airport.
Nearby attractions and activities:
Southern Chile is known for its natural beauty. There are plenty of activities available for the tourist. Rafting, fly fishing, volcano climbing are a small sample you can add to the more common touristic activities. Food and restaurants are superb, Chile is particularly well known for its seafood and wines.
If you wish to visit other resorts near by our property, such as the hot springs at Termas de Puyehue, or the Antillanca ski resort, we will provide your transportation to those places. We will also be happy to host you on a lake tour around the island or on a trout and salmon troll, cast or fly fishing expedition.

Policy:
Reservations are made with 100% daily rate and 50% trophy budget advance payment. Cancellations with 2 weeks notice are accepted and 70% of the advance payment is returned.
We accept only one hunting party at the same time. A maximum of 2 rifle hunters or 4 archery hunters guarantee privacy and help safety. Non hunting companions to the above party are welcome at reduced daily rate.
Local hunting license, temporary firearm import license, taxes, tips, insurance and any expenses outside our property need to be arranged in addition to our service.
