M13060 is totally ecological from the solar system power supply to the low-flush composting toilets. Our rooms and restaurant are extremely beautiful and luxurious. The beach is clean and the grounds are private. The nearby town of Mahahual is a little fishing village which now has many great restaurants and shops. Chinchorro Reef is a day trip for scuba divers and snorkelers who want to explore the second largest atoll in the world. M13060 is owned and operated by Canadians and bring a strong focus of client care to their business. The architecture of M13060 is uniquely different with many special details. This is a wonderful place for retreats, honeymooners, naturists, and family gatherings. We assist with all the details of traveling here and around the Yucatan.
Property amenities:
Our grand palapa is perfect for yoga, meeting space and just relaxing. It can also be used as a place to gather for groups who need inside/outside space. We offer internet use to our clients (every room has access to internet if clients bring their own computer)and use of the telephone is charged appropriately. We have a TV and VCR for use in rooms or the dining room. Our library is full of excellent books on the area, the Mayans, and other carefully selected books for pleasure - reading. Board games and horseshoes are also available. There is a small gift shop featuring Mexican and Mayan crafts, jewellery and clothes.
Breakfast and use of kayaks are included. Snorkeling equipment is a nominal charge.
Massage and esthetic services are available on request.
We have hammocks on the beach and lots of places to relax. Each room has a private balconey overlooking the sea.
Nearby attractions and activities:
The town of Mahahual is 5.6 km north. Many good restaurants, both Mexican and European, provide options for lunch and dinner.
Bacalar and Chetumal are two larger towns within a 2 hour drive that offer tourist attractions. Our closest Mayan ruin is 45 minutes from here and the larger ones, within 2 hours drive. Chinchorro Reef is a special feature accessed by licensed divers - a full day’s trip. Our coastal reef, just 200 metres from our beach is beautiful and easily accessed by our kayaks. Fishing trips can be arranged either in the sea or in rivers.
Policy:
We require a small deposit on Paypal or through a wire transfer, usually $100US. Full refund within a month of the visit; otherwise 50% if less than a month. Check in is anytime but the rooms are not promised until 3 pm. Check out time is 1 pm. Smoking is allowed but preferred on balconies. No minimum stay. Pets are allowed if handled appropriately by their owners. We encourage families and so children of all ages are welcome. Under 5 are free. No childcare is provided.
